We are looking for an experienced and skilled Mason to join our maintenance team. This full-time role involves a variety of masonry and general maintenance tasks to ensure that the property remains in excellent condition and meets safety and aesthetic standards. The ideal candidate should have solid knowledge in masonry work, be customer-service oriented, and be capable of handling routine maintenance and repair tasks. You will be expected to work closely with other departments, respond to guest requests, and perform hands-on work involving bricklaying, concrete repair, plastering, tile work, and other finishing tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve guest maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
- Perform masonry tasks including tile setting, plastering, cement work, concrete patching, and surface preparation
- Conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on building surfaces, walls, flooring, and structures
- Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance team on projects involving general repairs and upkeep
- Visually inspect equipment, tools, and structures to identify issues or wear
- Carry tools and equipment as required for assigned tasks
- Operate all utility shut-off valves when necessary and understand emergency protocols
- Maintain inventory of materials and request supplies when needed
- Report and document daily activities and maintenance issues during shift changes
- Replace A/C filters, light bulbs, and perform minor drywall or carpentry repairs as needed
- Use lockout/tagout procedures to safely complete work on mechanical and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot basic plumbing and electrical problems (e.g., clogged drains, replacing switches or outlets)
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas
- Input basic information into facility systems such as HVAC schedules and temperature controls
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
- Related Work Experience: Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.
- Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance a plus.
- Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
- License or Certification: Driver’s License
