Head Chef, Food Services Job in Australia 2024

Albury Wodonga Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced head chef for their food services department in Australia. The head chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen operations. Responsibilities of Head Chef:

• Join a passionate team of hospitality staff striving to deliver excellence in food nutrition catering to individual and diverse needs.
• Take pride in creating a tasty and healthy meals for our patients.
• Be an ideal team player.
• Take great pride in preparing and delivering appropriately nutritious food to the highest quality and service standards in line with AWH Food Safety Plan and Principles.
• Uses attention to food handling and hygiene standards and the ability to ensure menus are followed and can cater to diverse individual needs.
• Train and mentor cook team to the expected standards.
• Take part in internal, external audits, menu planning, ordering, budget planning, EOY stock takes and compliance management.
• Reporting to the Food Services Manager, the Head Chef will be abided to follow FSP, AWH Code of Conduct, complying with Food Safety Act and other position related tasks.

Eligibility Criteria for Head Chef:

• Mandatory: Formal Commercial Cooking Certificate
• Mandatory: Evidence of completion Food Safety Supervisor course
• Desirable: Proven knowledge and experience of cooking in a health environment or for vulnerable persons
• Mandatory: Effective time management skills
• Mandatory: Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
• Mandatory: Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
