Responsibilities of Hospitality Cook:

• Prepare and cook meals according to menu and customer preferences.
• Produce internal catering, food products and beverages for sale.
• Check, order and receipt stock.
• Ensure storage areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition and that stock is secure and stored appropriately.
• Assist: with kitchen flow to ensure timely delivery and restocking of retail food items.
• Ensure adherence to all kitchen menus and procedures to deliver a high degree of quality and consistency; and
• Participate in the preparation of menus and kitchen schedules, including cleaning and OHS matters.
• Ensure that food preparation areas are clean and hygienic.
• Assist in the development of new menu items.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines.

Requirements for Hospitality Cook:

• Proven experience as a cook in a hospitality setting.
• Highly developed customer service and public relations skills.
• The ability to establish effective working relationships within a team and the ability to work independently.
• Well-developed organizational skills, with the ability to anticipate and priorities work demands; and
• Proven ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Relevant culinary qualifications are a plus.
