We are seeking an experienced Painter to join our team at Blokhaus in Christchurch, Canterbury. This role offers multiple opportunities, including working on residential, commercial, and architectural painting projects. You will be an integral part of our skilled team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality finishes on a variety of buildings and properties.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing surfaces for painting, including scraping, sanding, and priming
- Mixing and matching paint to ensure consistency and color accuracy
- Applying paint, varnish, or other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces
- Installing wallpaper, decorative finishes, and other specialized coatings
- Ensuring high-quality, smooth finishes with attention to detail
- Working on a range of properties, from residential homes to commercial spaces
- Adhering to all health and safety guidelines while on-site
- Collaborating with other tradespeople to ensure projects run smoothly
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 4 years of relevant painting experience (qualification not compulsory, but skill level must meet industry standards)
- Proficiency with painting tools and equipment
- Proven experience with both interior and exterior painting
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work well independently or as part of a team
- Experience with different painting techniques (spraying, brushwork, etc.)
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
