As a OPD registered Nurse, you will provide compassionate and high-quality nursing care to patients visiting the center. You will work closely with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of personalized care and support. Your primary responsibility will be to assess patients’ health needs, create and implement care plans, monitor their progress, and provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment and Care

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify healthcare needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the patient, family and other members of the health care team that is consistent with the medical diagnosis of the patient and which evolves to reflect changing physical, psychosocial and age related requirements.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and condition, and promptly report any changes to the healthcare team.
  • Provides direct patient care for a number of assigned patients utilizing the nursing process of planning, implementing, evaluating and revising the plan of care to meet changing patient need.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and clinical skills appropriate to the area of assignment.
  • Delivers evidence-based nursing care to patients as determined by best practice guidelines, hospital policies and procedures, the Lippincot Manual, accreditation standards and Ministry of Health regulations and requirements
  • Takes direct and appropriate action in urgent and emergency situations

Patient Education & Support

  • Assesses patient educational and needs and interacts with relevant staff and departments to facilitate requirement.
  • Educate patients and their families on healthcare issues, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families during challenging times.
  • Ensure patients understand discharge instructions and follow-up care.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans

Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, assessments, and care plans.
  • Document all nursing interventions, medications administered, and patient responses to treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements regarding patient documentation.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all time

Safety and Infection Control

  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of healthcare-associated infections.
  • Implement safety measures to protect patients, staff, and visitors from accidents and injuries.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards in the healthcare environment.
  • Identifies and reports defective or broken equipment, safety hazards and environmental hazards

Quality Improvement and Compliance

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
  • Assist in the implementation of evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of nursing sensitive patient care indicators especially the required interventions for preventing patient falls, correct Identification process infections, and medication errors.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to patient complaints and concerns. Initiates the nursing of administrative chain of command if unable to resolve patient issues
  • Assists the Head Nurse of the unit by willing acceptance of any other work-related responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job

Skills

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program. ( Preferable Saudi).
  • Current and valid SCFHS nursing license
  • Minimum 2 Years, preferably in outpatient care setting
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technology.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing patient needs and environments.
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification as needed
  • Service mindset
