DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES in Shoppers Drug Mart:
• Customer Support.
• Find and locate prescriptions and any ancillary items.
• Perform duties in priority according to the role assigned on the role assignment schedule.
• Refer to the pharmacist all clinical inquiries.
• Accurately dispense prescription medications.
• Third Party adjudication where required and necessary.
• Set realistic customer expectations regarding wait times.
• Promptly greet customers.
• Gather prescription information in accordance with Standards.
• Perform duties in priority according to Role assigned on Role Assignment Schedule.
• Refer to the pharmacist all clinical inquiries.
• Accurately dispense prescription medications.
• Third Party adjudication where required and necessary.
• Locate and cash out prescriptions and any ancillary items.
• Ensure customers requiring treatment are refertred to the pharmacist.
ADMINISTRATION:
- Prepare and submit orders with the exception of controlled substances and narcotics.
- Answer the phone and refer those calling to a chemist as needed.
- Manage incoming faxes in accordance with Pharmacy Standards of Practise.
- Receive new and repeat prescription orders in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Prepare and submit orders, with the exception of controlled substances and narcotics.
- Adjudicate third party billing, both online and manually.
PRESCRIPTION WORKFLOW:
• Assist in prescription preparation to company’s standards and professional services.
• Data entry for new prescriptions and managing refill request processing.
• Select medications to fill prescriptions according to Pharmacy Standards of Practice.
• Efficiently count or measure, package, and label prescriptions, as per Pharmacy Standards.
• Accurately enter and maintain appropriate data within the applicable Pharmacy systems.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous pharmacy experience important.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective organisational skills.
- Able to multitask.
- Registered with the relevant provincial licencing organisation.
- Pharmacy technician college diploma.
