In the Bay of Plenty, Waipuna Hospice is widely recognised for its specialist community palliative care. While our main objective is hospice-at-home, we also have an established inpatient the institute and support an experienced community team. Our geographic range extends from Waihi Beach to Otamarakau. Contracts with the DHB, donations to charities, and sales from our retail charity shops all go towards paying for these services.

About You

This position is situated in our Papamoa depot, and it acts as one of our main focuses for processing donated items before selling them. Donated goods are distributed to our sellers from our storehouse. Working with incoming goods may take up some of your day, and other days you may be needed to drive our van outdoors to pick up or transport bigger items like furniture. Driving will not be an essential part of the job, but it might become more essential in the future. The requirement for regular cleaning, electrical testing, and maintenance may arise.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• High level of physical fitness and the ability to lift massive items safely.

• Full manual NZ driving licence and experience driving and manoeuvring a large manual van. 

• Experience with goods and manual handling. 

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. 

• Experience dealing with people sensitively. 

• Good problem-solving and organisational skills. 

• A can-do attitude.
